RE: Living in Cold Winter Months

Some comments from the "Great White North"!
Your situation in ND can be liveable, albiet not too comfortable.
Our home park near Calgary Alberta has about 60 rigs wintering over, and it can get down into the -50F area with wind chills for a week or more at a time. They all seem to survive!
A couple of things not mentioned yet.
Buy 4 or so of those "dehumidifiers" that use "Dry-Z-Air" calcium chloride pellets and place them on the floor around the rig. You will need to empty them every few days, but they help with humidity.
Seal any skylights with saran wrap and tape(or heavier window insulation packages at hardware stores).
Leave your roof vents cracked open 1/4". That sounds counterproductive, but it will keep the air circulating and help with humidity.
Turn on your stove vent when cooking (make sure it is open on the outside).
We also put insulation around the B/R slide (both sides and top and bottom).
When home, close the door between the living and bed/bath area.
When you go to bed crack open the bottom cupboard doors where there are H2O lines or pumps.
Just wear extra clothes and cuddle at night!
Hope for a warm winter!

Sicamous B.C. overnighting

Does anyone know of a decent spot with easy in and out (non camground) to overnite in or near Sicamous B.C.?
Would appreciate any help.

RE: Considering full time

DW and I were 50 when we decided to try it for a year. After seven years of it we had to go back to work for 5 years to replenish finances. We are now retired and back full timing, and it sure works for us.
Also agree that Escapees is a wonderful help for any FT's.
Go for it, most of the little detail stuff you can work out as you go!

RE: What I've learned so far about Full-time

You folks don't have it so bad with the quarter thing. Up here in the Great White North, quarters are almost extinct. Everything is a "loonie" ($1.00) for laundry, or shower, $2.00 for dryers, and in Calgary close by, a quarter would buy you about 12 seconds on a parking meter.

RE: Spring Break-Queretaro, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosi

Great pics and wonderful post. Please keep it up, perhaps you will help convince some of the great unwashed that rural Mexico is a safe and "must see" RV destination. Or perhaps we do not want that to happen!

RE: Toll Gate dropping on 5th Wheeler!

It is still happening in March. Our rig and a friend's both got hit passing thru. Again no real damage, so not a big issue.
